Today, I wanted to share with you a foundation I’ve been trying out recently. I’ve been trying out Maybelline’s Fit Me! Liquid Foundation in hopes to find a good drugstore foundation. For the past four years I’ve stuck mainly with Smashbox Studio Skin Foundation and recently decide to dip my toes into drugstore brands instead. I’m pretty certain that the game has changed with drugstore foundations over the past four years.
Packaging: It comes in a beautiful glass container. A down side is that it doesn’t come with a pump. I really wish it did to make application easier. I usually pour some out onto my hand before adding it to my face using a beauty-blender.
Coverage: Light – Medium
Thoughts: One of my favorite drugstore gel eyeliners is by Maybelline, so I decided to start with their line. I have combination skin, where my t-zone is oily, but cheeks, around my eyes, and chin, are dry. This foundation is pretty light weight on the skin, it doesn’t feel too heavy, and has a light to medium coverage. They currently come in 18 shades, so there’s a pretty good color range and you’re likely to find a shade that works for you.
I prefer using my beauty blender to apply the product. You can use a stippling brush but it tends to leave streaks and I think a beauty sponge or your fingers works best.
Some cons would be that I felt I needed to use a setting powder. I was able to do my foundation first, then finish the rest of my makeup and it still felt like the foundation didn’t set. It would take a while to set and I preferred to use a setting powder or spray to help. Also, I feel that if you have a long day, this may not be your product if you don’t want to touch up at all. Maybe mid-day, it starts to look oily and I need to blot and do a touch up with my pressed powder. Over all, I really enjoy and would recommend this product.
