I was recently able to work with Make Beauty and I received 2 samples to review and create a look with. Their Silk Cream Lipstick in the color Taffy, and their Matte Finish Eyeshadow in Alabaster.
MakeBeauty does not test on animals and is hypoallergenic. I applaud them on being animal cruelty free, and it is a quality I’ve been looking into for more of my beauty products.
As you can see from the pictures, you can probably guess that I would love the colors! I loved their lipstick and am thinking about purchasing it for myself, however their eyeshadow in Alabaster just doesn’t cut it. When you rub your finger in it, you can see that it has a great color, but once applied, it is very sheer and blends right into my skin and matches seamlessly! If I want this eyeshadow to appear on my skin, I need to have a darker shade under it for it to show. It seems very pigmented when you rub your finger in it, however for my skin tone, it just doesn’t work and show up as beautifully as I was hoping.
Their lipstick applies like a dream however. It’s very creamy and lovely to wear throughout the day. You will have to re-apply after a meal but it wears nicely so if you aren’t one to re-apply or touch-up throughout the day, I think you’ll be just fine. You will however, have to take note of the center part of your lips as that is probably the first area you will manage to rub off first.
This is the look I decided to use for these two products. I used the eyeshadow on my eyelids, and on my outer V area, I used Faint from my Urban Decay Naked Basics palette. As you can see, the colors I was sent work very well for a natural look or even no-makeup makeup look.
