Hit or Miss || Tarte Tarteist Clay Paint Liner || KrystiEncounters

Hey lovelies,

As some of you guys have seen, it did make my August Favorites.  This post is to just give it more in detail and the rating I gave it isn’t what you would think.

I like the formula and it glides on smoothly.  It dries down to a beautiful matte black and once dry, you can rub rather hard at it, and it stays put for the most part.  Granted, you shouldn’t be rubbing your eyes that hard if you are able to smudge it.

It does say it is water proof, but I don’t think it performs the best under those conditions.  It will start to flake away if you touch it.  So if you go to the pool and dry off with a towel or even swipe at your eye area if your face gets wet, you’re likely to mess with the eyeliner.  If you pour water onto your face and don’t touch it however, it will stay in place.

As you can see, it does fade a little where the water is really hitting it, but it doesn’t run and cause a black streak.  In my August Favorites, I was comparing it to Urban Decay 24/7 Waterline Eye Pencil which is the one on the left.

I love that it comes with an angled brush!  The brush itself is of good quality and you can get a good  wing out of it.  I think that if the bristles were a little shorter and it were a little denser, you could get a very controlled thin line.

Some cons would be the tube itself.  There are air pockets sometimes and it can cause some of the product to shoot out and it can get a little messy.  The pro to this tube is that it keeps the product wet and fresh versus it being in a pot where it will dry out a lot faster.

Overall, I have to give this product a miss.  It’s worth a look at if you’re in the market for a new eyeliner and it is in my August favorites.  However, this product doesn’t wow me and I think I can find a better waterproof one out there, but for everyday long wear, I think it’s great. The packaging I think also needs to be worked on a bit since there are a lot of times that the product has shot out at me, sometimes onto my clothes and then I have to go change, etc.  To me, if you’re going to say it’s waterproof, it shouldn’t flake or start fading off when water is applied.
